Where do we start? What is the process?
We appreciate your interest in a Promised Love Golden puppy. To join the Promised Love family, the initial step is to complete and submit the application. It's important to note that the safety and wellbeing of our puppies are our sole concern at Promised Love Goldens. We are committed to taking all necessary measures to place them in loving, permanent homes. Each application is carefully processed to ensure our puppies find the most fitting homes.
Please make sure to read the "About" section on our website and the Q&A to comprehend our puppy placement process. This method has proven successful, with all previous puppies flourishing in their new homes. Furthermore, we request that you inform us of any special requirements or if you intend to engage in therapy dog programs or sports, as many service and therapy dogs have originated from our program.
Upon approval of the application, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is required.
A balance of $3,500, along with the applicable state tax of 8.25%, is due two weeks before the scheduled puppy pick-up date.
Once the puppies are born, applicants who have completed the application process will be contacted via email and/or phone to place their deposit. If a puppy is not available for you, you may choose to add your name to the waiting list for a future litter.

I want to choose the best puppy. How do I do that?
Desiring the best puppy for your family is a completely natural feeling. Puppies, in many ways, are akin to children – each one comes into this world endowed with unique qualities and areas that require improvement. While we may sometimes wish otherwise, there is no such thing as a perfect child or a perfect puppy. However, if a breeder is fulfilling their responsibilities properly, then every puppy is wonderful, each with its own distinctive personality.
Our puppy placements are determined by the comprehensive information we gather from our puppies, combined with everything you provide about your home and family dynamics through the application, questionnaire, and our conversations. Our approach strengthens puppy placements, ensuring matches are based on temperament and personality, taking into account all previously mentioned factors. Consequently, we believe that assigning a pick order is not equitable for the families. A one-hour visit to select a lifelong companion cannot compare to the eight weeks of thorough care and interaction we provide. We are convinced that this method serves the best interest of both the puppies and their prospective owners.
You select my puppy for me…how does that work?
In the process of matching puppies with families, we are constantly enhancing our program through professional education to discover better methods for the puppies' welfare. We utilize a blend of Puppy Culture and Avidog, along with an introduction to Puppy Start Right, guiding your puppy through the necessary steps to ensure they arrive home ready to adapt, learn, and socialize. This approach benefits both the puppies and their new owners, facilitating a smooth integration. Our selections are made just before the 8-week mark following intensive handling and socialization.
We cannot wait to meet our puppy, can we come visit?
It's commonly said that a reputable breeder will welcome you into their facility. Initially, we followed this practice and allowed visitors into our home during the 6th, 7th, and 8th weeks. However, after considerable discussion, taking into account the counsel of other professionals, and upon our veterinarian's recommendation to prevent traffic in and around our home to safeguard our program, we have heeded this advice and now, respectfully, do not allow visitors.
We prioritize transparency in our daily lives, showing you the environment where your puppies—and our adult dogs—are raised, right in our home. None of our adults or puppies are kept in kennels. They are raised in our home at all times. We have a designated dog room, which is our insulated garage outfitted with heating and cooling, used for playtime, as well as for more intensive individual testing and training as they grow. We strive to maintain a super clean and tidy space, but as the puppies grow, you'll notice the inevitable playful and potty-training messes. Our goal is to provide you with a clear view of the upbringing of your future family member.
